The Rafale B is a two-seat combat aircraft optimized to accommodate a two-man crew. Since the possibility of producing a two-seater had been considered right from the preliminary studies, the
Rafale B was equipped with a similar airframe to that of the single-seater, with a fuselage of the same length.
With 9,500 kg of external carrying capability, the Rafale B can perform a wide range of missions previously requiring dedicated types of aircraft: air superiority, air defense, ground attack, aerial reconnaissance, pilot training sorties and nuclear deterrence. The aircraft is operational in the French Air Force and combat proven.
